Frame - Scandium 1160g, or Scandium with carbon seat and chain stays 1250g
Fork - Mizuno Fiandre Monocoque Carbon-340g
Seatpost - Ritchey Pro Carbon

The Team frame has been raced many thousands of race miles over the last several seasons, starting with Gerolsteiner, then Cofidis, and now Lampre. Constructed in either full scandium or with carbon fiber seat stays and chain stays, this frame is a pure racing machine with few creature comforts.

What is Scandium?
Scandium was discovered in 1879 by Lars Nilson and ranks eighth among the rarest elements on earth at 5 ppm. It is a silvery white metal, number 21 on the periodic table of the elements, that is mainly used in aluminum alloys to increase strength and durability while decreasing the total specific weight.

Effects of Scandium
- Increased strength
- Increased resistance to crystallization
- Increased resistance to stress cracking
- Reduction in the size of the beads
- Increased stress properties

We witness a significant improvement of resistance in the Scandium alloys. Crystallization is prevented and bead size is reduced thanks to the heating process during the welding phase.

In conclusion:
- Weight reduction up to 15% of the frame weight when compared to 7005 aluminum.
- Adequate stiffness without power loss.
- Comfortable and smooth ride even on rough terrain
- Excellent lasting properties
