The Le Roi is back for its third season, but with a few changes. All Wilier carbon frames are now built with monocoque technology, and so is the new Le Roi XL. Like the Cento, it comes in under the kilo mark on the scale at 990g. The Le Roi XL uses high modulus T60 and intermediate modulus T30 fibers like the Cento, but also some T40 fibers (another high modulus fiber) as well. The 2006 version used T40, T30, and T24, so the new blend is a more high modulus one with the addition of the T60 fibers and subtraction of the T24. The Le Roi XL is a light and stiff racing bike that is suitable for the rider who is looking for optimal power transfer in sprinting and climbing.
Now available for the first time in 2007 is a built-to-order custom Le Roi. You pick the tube lengths and Wilier will build it for you. This is a completely handmade frame, using the same individual monocoque tubes of the 2006 Le Roi. Turnaround time is around 3 months. Please contact your dealer for a fitting.
