Cento, which means 100 in Italian, is the new frame that Wilier Triestina has prepared to celebrate its 100th anniversary. The Cento frame is an ultra light monocoque carbon fiber frame developed with the most advanced technology.

The frame is built using a patented technique that allows the precise control of varying tube wall thickness.

Several types of unidirectional carbon fibers ( mainly T60 and T30) are used in order to achieve the optimal balance between light weight and stiffness where it counts most: the bottom bracket and head tube.

T60 is a high modulus carbon fiber and therefore extremely rigid. T30 carbon fiber is intermediate modulus, which makes it slightly heavier but more stress resistant. Reinforcing the T60 with T30 only where the frame is stressed the most allows an incredible average frame weight of 920 grams with unprecedented resistance to stress.

The precision of this technology is such that the mount for the front derailleur is integrated in the frame, rather than being applied later.

The design of the frame is not merely for aesthetic reasons. The unique square profile of the head tube, which is also found in the fork, gives the Cento an incredible resistance to vibrations and allows the rider to safely maintain the chosen trajectories while descending and turning.

The chain stays are constructed with a special high pressure carbon fiber that insures extreme compactness. The carbon is subject to very high pressure in the mold.

Aluminum is only used in the bottom bracket threading and in the cap of the head tube in which the head set is housed.

Cento, built with the latest components, will be the bike of choice for Damiano Cunego and the Lampre professional racing team.
